HON.DR ADAMU ALIYU MEMBER REPRESENTING JOS NORTH-NORTH CONSTITUENCY PRESENT A MOTION CALLING ON THE STATE GOVERNMENT TO AUTHORIZE PLATEAU STATE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND OTHER RELEVANT AGENCIES TO CHECK THE ALARMING ACTIVITIES OF QUACK HEALTH PRACTITIONERS AND UNREGISTERED MEDICAL FACILITIES WITHIN THE STATE.

Today being the 13th day of September 2023, member Representing Jos North-North Constituency presented a motion. The motion read in part: "if you will recall our media platforms were awash with the story of 

one Mrs. Kehinde, who sometimes in 2018 consulted a supposedly 

medical Doctor known as Dr. Noah Kekere, the proprietor of Murna Clinic 

and Maternity situate at Nassarawa Gwong, Jos. she had abdominal pains, 

and Dr. Noah Kekere, did informed her that her illness was an appendix 

which must be removed.

Mr. Noah Kekere, conducted the surgery as planned in 2018, after several 

hours, unfortunately and unknowingly her right kidney was illegally 

removed in the course of the surgery. It was later discovered at the 

University of Jos Teaching Hospital that her kidney was removed.

This discovery led to the arrest of Mr. Noah Kekere. Worthy of commendation 

was the refusal of the Nassarawa Divisional Officer (DPO), S.P Timothy 

Bebissa to accep bribe in order to compromise investigations 

He is an exceptional officers. Further findings revealed that there are four other similar cases of kidney allegedly from the same hospital. 

In a related twist, NIGERIAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION, Plateau State 

branch in a press statement confirmed that Mr. Noah Kekere is actually a Quack"

Dr. Adamu Aliyu  via the motion, call on the Honourable House to call on the Plateau State Government to authorize relevant agencies to investigate the activities of Quack 

Practitioners and Unregistered Medical Facilities within the State. In a heated debate,  the Deputy speaker and other members argued that activities of Quack and unqualified medical practitioners is posing a threat to the lives of the citizens. They added that other organ harvesting conspiratorial syndicates must be brought to book. The House is going liase with NMA and other relevant agencies to check the menace of quackery in Plateau state. Members showered accolades on Hon. Dr Adamu Aliyu for bringing this important and timely motion.
